Mrs McCartney | Senior Teacher
Key Role: Co-ordinating School Policies & Wellbeing

I started teaching History in GHS in 1988 (for one year) and have never left!
Since then I’ve been Health Education Co-ordinator, Personal and Social Education Co-ordinator, Citizenship Co-ordinator and Head of Year. I still teach History, which I love.

I’ve been a member of the school family for a long time and have seen many changes to prepare young people better for the world of today, helping them to learn, grow in confidence and succeed.

Something you may not know about me

For my birthday a few years ago my family took me out in a sea plane. We flew over the island of Malta, and landed on water. It was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone!

I started Glengormley High School in 2004 as a temporary teacher of Technology and Design. I have been a Head of Year, Pastoral Learning Leader and Acting Vice Principal. My goal is to inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.

Mrs Fox | Senior Teacher
Key Role: Pedagogy

I joined the school in 2015 and have been Head of the English Department since 2017. My role involves a whole-school approach to learning across all subjects, giving a voice to both staff and students. The most rewarding thing is hearing what students want/need and then working with staff on how to make the pupils’ learning experience as positive as possible, with a clear focus on their individual progress.

I was in one of the first groups of people to complete the fastest zip line in the world, travelling at speeds of over 100mph!

Mrs Kerr | Senior Teacher
Key Role: Pedagogy

I started teaching in Glengormley High School in 2007. My role as SENCo is to co-ordinate the support for all pupils with SEN and additional learning needs. This means providing teachers with training and advice, and I also work closely with parents, carers and external agencies. Part of my role involves leading our large team of Teaching Assistants, who also provide such valuable support to all our pupils.
