Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 4 GCSE at grade C and above which must include English, Maths and a Science/Technology Subject.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude or interest in engineering.
  • Those applying for Electrical and Control & Instrument apprenticeship must be free from colour blindness.

Selection tests may be used as part of the recruitment process.

To undertake a 3-year training apprenticeship with the possibility of 1 year’s post work experience (subject to performance and business requirements).

BT are recruiting IT Higher Level Apprentices for our IT Managed Services organisation based in Belfast.

Job Description

The apprentices will be working in a Managed Services environment within our Service Desk dealing and serving BT’s global customers.  This desk operates as the frontline team to all our major business customers who rely on BT to resolve their incidents within agreed service level agreements.  The team deal with proactive and reactive alerts from our customers to deliver a world class service across the globe.  The apprentices will deliver excellent customer service to help resolve incidents whilst building their knowledge and skill in a range of technologies to give them a good breadth of knowledge before choosing which area they would like to specialise in.


Apprentices will spend four days per week at BT’s Belfast office and one day a week at a local college working towards a technical qualification. The cost of this training will be covered by the Apprenticeships NI fund and apprentices will have an excellent salary and benefits package with BT.


4 GCSE’s Grades A*-C, including Maths and English Language, plus 2 ‘A’ levels – Grades A-C, or verified equivalent qualifications.
