We’re always delighted to recognise and reward achievement in our pupils. We were proud to award a number of our students the role of Senior and Junior Prefect today, with pupil attendance, conduct and contribution to school life acknowledged – well done to all our students!

Sixth Form Enrollment

Big day tomorrow for our pupils receiving their GCSE results. We want all our students to know that we are proud of you and wish you the best of luck. Results are available at 9am and you can speak to subject leaders about Sixth Form courses. Parents and Pupils from other schools are very welcome in school tomorrow and over the next few days to find out about our exciting Sixth Form Programme!

Daina’s on top form again

Congratulations to Daina Cardwell who at the English Wrestling Championship in Derbyshire over the weekend came 2nd in the 64kg Class. #aspiretosucceed #learningwithoutlimits

Celebrating our successful Sixth Years

It’s an absolute delight for us to recognise the hard work and dedication exhibited by our students from Year 8 to Year 14 in all areas of school life. Today we had the opportunity to recognise excellence in our Sixth Form who received awards for a wide range of reasons.

Pupils received awards for academic success and effort, for contributing to school life, for being a good role model to others, for charity contribution and even for being a supportive friend. Well done everyone – very proud of you all!

Eye4Education Assessment Centre

Eye4Education returned to GHS today to announce the winners of the 4 stage Assessment Centre that took place before Easter.

The winning candidate was  James Getty

First Reserve:  Zoe Wright, Mathew Morton and James Relph

 James won an Echo Dot for his outstanding performance in all 4 areas of the Assessment Centre – Application Form, Aptitude Test, Group Activity and Interview

 First Reserves:  Zoe Wright, Mathew Morton and James Relph who all scored equally and each received a memory pen with Zoe Wright receiving a University Sweater for her outstanding interview performance overall.

Celebrating Young Enterprise Success

This morning in assembly we celebrated with AVP Mr McNabb our young people who completed a Young Enterprise Personal Economics Programme.

In completing the programme they thought about future careers, explored interview techniques, spending habits, banking trends, money protection and managing credit and debt.

Well done to everyone who completed the programme and thanks to Mr Coey for facilitating this opportunity.

Year 13 Assessment Centre

Year 13 students were put through a rigorous 4 stage recruitment process.   Stage 1 started with student’s completing an application form, stage 2 involved sitting an aptitude test, stage 3 evolved into students engaged in group work exercise and the fourth and final stage saw students engaged in a one-to-one interview with industry professionals.

After Easter the winning candidate will be revealed!
